Experimental sound setup for more 'realistic' DC-4 / C-54 / Carvair sounds.

MAKE BACKUPS FIRST!!!

You'll need to download Des Braban's DC3 sound set available from a major download site such as Avsim as dc3sndpk.zip install it in your desired location as per instructions. Copy the contents of the Sound.db folder into the freshly installed DC3 sound set folder. This should overwrite the existing gearup.wav, geardown.wav and sound.cfg files.

The gearup and geardown files our from Mike Hambly's DC-6 sound package and the sound.cfg file tweaked by Carvair officianado Maarten Brouwer and will convert the sound set to reflect a 4 engine sound which is just a bit more like the real thing. Particularly when playing loud over the speakers/headphones. I think you'll agree the sound is much more 4x P&W Twin Wasp R-2000 than it was before.

These files are released as freeware which among other things means that you shouldn't pay for them as part of a collection or otherwise give anyone anything in order to enjoy them.

It is forbidden to upload these files to any site with the intention to make them available for public download or distribute them in such a manner, without express written permission from the producer of the files.
